The Move-Out Cleaning Checklist for Lexington Renters
By the Bee Clean Solutions Team · June 9, 2026 · 5 min read
Moving out is stressful enough without losing your deposit over a dirty oven. A move-out clean is what stands between you and the full refund. Here is the room by room checklist we use on every move-out job, so nothing gets missed.
Start in the kitchen
The kitchen is where deposits live or die, so start here. Clean inside the oven, inside the fridge, and inside every cabinet and drawer.
Wipe the range, the hood, and the backsplash. Clean the sink and run the disposal. Sweep and mop the floor. Landlords check the oven first, so do not skip it.
Reset the bathrooms
Scrub the toilet, tub, and shower, including the grout and any glass. Clean inside the medicine cabinet and the vanity.
Wipe mirrors and fixtures until they shine, and empty and wipe out every drawer.
Hit every room
Dust top to bottom: baseboards, blinds, window sills, and door frames. Wipe down light switches and outlet covers, and knock the cobwebs out of the corners.
Vacuum and mop every floor. Clean inside the closets too, shelves, rods, and all.
The spots people forget
Inside the washer and dryer. Light fixtures and ceiling fans. The inside of the windows. Behind the toilet.
These are the exact places a landlord runs a finger across, so they are the ones worth the extra minute.
